I have just found out my girlfriend has it, I’m devestated, she’s 25 and I am worrying out of my mind hoping that she will get through it, what are the chances? surely its alot easier for someone who’s younger to get through something like this, and now she’s saying she’s give up and she take it no more, am proper upset about it, understandabley, but i cant begin to imagine what she’s going through :( any advice people? anythin at all! …

I have been having a stinging feeling in the right lung area, i do smoke about five cigarettes a day and i used to smoke alot of marijuana. I say to myself that nothing could really be wrong if i can withstand a four mile run, and half a mile swim, plus stationary bycyle almost daily. I had a chest xray last year which showed no disease. Would i have this kind of cardiovascular endurance and still have lung cancer or lung disease caused by smoking?

I have been a hard core smoker for 23 years and am trying to stop smokeing cigerettes . Cancer and diabetes run in my family and I am concerned for my health because for a while I have been having signs of lung cancer , I looked up the symptoms and alot of them fit me . I am beginning to get really scared about this and need to find out what is wrong with me and if it is actually what I suspect and am afraid of I am only 33 years old and shouldn’t be feeling so fatigued and sick
like I am . Can someone tell me where I can go to get tested for cancer /lung cancer here in Los Angeles or california Thanks Robin Gist in Los Angeles.

I have been photographing the inside of an abandoned school building the past two days. I’ve been wearing a mask but I still inhaled alot of dust/dirt/possibly asbestos. I can feel it all in my lungs and I keep coughing. Is there anything I can do to make it better? I do not smoke. I have allergies, but Claritin isn’t helping with my lungs.

Can I do something to clear this all out or do I just wait it out? It feels best to be outside, which it’s cold and rainy today, if that makes any difference. Thanks in advance.

so ive ben reading alot about asbestos and silica and dust and long term exposure causing lung disease and death
well, the A/C unit in my part of the house is VERY OLD ,and is SOOOO dusty…alll of te "grilles" ,the white metal bars where the air comes out always has alot of dust around it, espeically under it, and the ac unit closet itself is really dusty, so it leads to think that dust is constantly being blown by the A/C
to make matters worse, i think the duct is made out of abestos
ALSO…i think the duct may pass through the attic which is full of white wool, glass wool, rock wool, or something. the ac duct is right above my bed(and theres a second not far off)
is all that dust abestos(if it is actually asbestos) im breathing in now going to affect me later in life? and kill me? im 17, ive lived in this house for 14 years.
my questions are
-what is this stuff, abestos,what?
-if im 17 now, will it really last into my 80s?
-health risks?
-signigifcance of exposure?
-is there a lung test i can do, to see if i have these pieces?
the house was built in the 1920s or 30s, but obviously it has been redone many times. i do think the A/C duct is asbestos though; wouldnt the dust got blown in my room?
