This clip is from the 1959 film, “Asbestos: a Matter of Time,” by the Bureau of Mines (US Department of the Interior.) The entire film is available on GoggleVideo. This clip describes key properties of asbestos and some of its uses in the 1950s. Inhaling asbestos dust, can cause asbestosis, lung cancer and esothelioma. Asbestos manufacturers knew of these diseases by the 1930s. Tens of thousands of (mostly) workers have been made sick and died from asbestos exposure. For more information, go to the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO) website – www.asbestosdiseaseawareness.org

so I looked it up.
It said something about collapsed lung and possible asbestos exposure.

I kept saying that I coughed like an asbestosis patient.

For ppl who know of this ailment…tell me stuff like how long it takes to heal. I generally don’t heal quickly at all. So I am worried.
One lady told me to hold my breath for 10 sec…but I can only hold it 3 sec.
I’m on steriods, an inhailer, and a Z pac. I also have Atuss.

Help me understand what I have and make me "feel" better…

"Eugenol" is a chemical found in an extract of cloves, nutmeg, vanilla, and cinnamon that polymerizes to asbestos fibers, neutralizing their toxicity. If administered via positive-pressure breathing apparatus or hyperbaric chamber therapy could it have a potential effect on people suffering from asbestosis?

I lived in a home with asbestos ceilings for about 11 yrs.
I sometimes even played with the "popcorn" that fell from the ceiling a a child.
Will I likely develop serious illnesses such as mesthelioma or asbestosis?

Hello, These symptoms started about 2 or 3 months ago, after walking for several miles.

I am 64, and have shortness of breath that comes on once or twice a day, as well as coughing up flem. I’ve been to the heart doctor and he says my heart is fine. Nothing has showed up on my chest x rays.

I have been exposed to asbestus in my work, years ago. I have an appointment with a lung doctor in a couple of weeks.

Anyone have any ideas?

Asbestosis and mesothelioma, come to mind, but I was told those should have shown up on the chest x ray from my family doctor.
