are you more likely to get lung cancer from smoking tobacco or smoking marijuana?
my dad said smoking one joint is like smoking 26 cigarettes, I highly doubt that. I think more people die from lung cancer due to tobacco not cannabis.sooo whats true?

Am thinking that:
- lung cancer, from what I’ve read, looks like any old thing until it’s too late
- doctors use research to inform their judgement around testing
- research suggests that cancer tends to show up in older people
Someone who started smoking at 11 will have smoked for 20 years by the time they’re 31. Their doctor might not bother testing for cancer because the age profile is lower than the typical threshold (age 50, I think).
Thanks Denise, for replying.
But if the number of cigarettes smoked is, as many people say, the most important cause of lung cancer, what role does age play?

One of the articles above suggests that early smoking affects development in a special way…
Is it possible to get lung cancer (or any smoking related cancer) from a single cigarette (even if it’s hard to prove)
or is lung cancer just possible at a long time use of cigarettes?
ive been smoking for like 7 months and i smoke about 6 or 7 cigarettes per day and i got a sore throat and a cough and when i cough phlegm comes up could i have lung cancer? or is it just a cough when you get a cold?
i have been smoking for about 15 years average of 3 to 5 sticks of cigarettes a day and lately i experience hard coughing and heavy feeling on the back, so i slowly stopped smoking for almost a month now, i still smoke now but i don’t completely inhale it to my lungs, only on the mouth and then just blow it out. do you think i am having cancer already?
I’ve had about 4 packs of 20 cigarettes in my life in the range of a 2 year’s time, is it enough to cause severe lung cancer?
