exposed to asbestos?
This is gonna sound very dumb but about a year ago i bought an old house and did some remodeling . i had to install a new window and cut some siding away well turns out it was asbestos . i know i had to breathe some in. And since then i have been diagnosed with uveitus an eye inflamation disease. i have been tested for everything associated with uveitus which includes a chest x ray. now with being exposed that one time could that cause health issues or am i over reacting the dust was contained to the back of the house but im also concerned some got inside and my 3 year could also be affected . this is a nightmare and anyone that knows any facts would be greatly appreciated. I read all over long term exposure is what causes cancer buy now a days it seems like just trying to take care of your family and fix up your house you got someone telling you it can kill you. I worry alot and this is driving me nuts

My mother lectures in health and safety so i know a small bit about it i will ask her more and get more info for you if i can, but here are the things i do know for sure, the dust is cancer causing over a few exposures what happens is that you breath in the dust and it settles in your lungs and can remain dormant for your whole life and not affect you but it generally it causes a cancerous change in the body, 1 time is not really life treatening but you probably did this already air out the house open all windows while sweeping the floors wearing a mask to get rid of any residue, if you do any more rennovations you should wear masks proper solid good gas masks and good solid gloves proper overalls, your three year old will not really be affected unless she was helping, it as you probably know is only harmful if the large sheets are broken, hope you are ok keep the faith it probably wont affect you.

How do you know it was asbestos?
What type? (cement of insulation board)
Never heard of asbestos related eye problems.
Chest X ray won’t show anything for years (if you have got it )
Short term single exposure shouldn’t kill you.
Use a mask for any building works (P3 filter mask)
