its a form of cancer that is said to be cause by breathing in asbestos dust…asbestos is an old substance that was used to prevent fires in buildings….people in the construction business that installed or removed asbestos were at risk of developing cancer by handling it…..its not considered a hazarous material

If you found that web site confusing, I’m really not sure how to help you because that web site was about as simple as it gets. Was there something specific you were trying to find?

Mesothelioma is cancer in the lining of your lungs. This lining, called mesothelium, is there to lubricate your lungs so they can expand and contract more easily. Mesothelium is also found surrounding the heart. Mesothelioma occurs when someone is exposed to the chemical asbestos.

Mesothelioma is a form of cancer that is almost always caused by previous exposure to asbestos.[1] In this disease, malignant cells develop in the mesothelium, a protective lining that covers most of the body’s internal organs. Its most common site is the pleura (outer lining of the lungs and chest cavity), but it may also occur in the peritoneum (the lining of the abdominal cavity) or the pericardium (a sac that surrounds the heart).
Most people who develop mesothelioma have worked on jobs where they inhaled asbestos particles, or have been exposed to asbestos dust and fibre in other ways, such as by washing the clothes of a family member who worked with asbestos, or by home renovation using asbestos cement products. There is no association between mesothelioma and smoking

Yes, I do know somewhat about it. What do you want to know? It is a cancer of the mesothelium and usually asbestos is a causative factor in America.
