Mesothelioma FAQs
He is 65 and he has not started his chemo or radiation yet.I thought that loss of appetite was because of treatment .Since he was only diagnosed last week he hasnt begun treatment yet.I just want to know if this is part of cancer.I not really asking an in depth question just curious is this a normal part of lung cancers progression?

I would say his loss of appetite is due to the shock he has just recieved from his doctor, the loss of his voice i couldn’t say…… my dad had lung cancer and he did lose his voice for a while but that was after some treatment.

He could be in the process of giving up before treatment begins.
Loss of taste can possibly be with his type of lung cancer or medications he’s taking that makes food not taste good.
My dad gave up before treatment started and he made comments about food not tasting good.
Just be there for your friend.
